The museum is located in the historic center of Valguarnera Caropepe, inside Palazzo Prato.

It is easily accessible by car, on foot, or by bicycle; parking is available nearby.

History of the Institute and its headquarters

Inaugurated in 2010 through the collaboration between the Municipality of Valguarnera Caropepe and the Associazione Valguarneresi nel Mondo (Valguarneresi in the World Association), the Valguarnera Ethno-Anthropological and Emigration Museum is housed in Palazzo Prato, an elegant early-20th-century historic residence.

The Museum preserves a rich collection of objects and tools related to work in the fields and sulfur mines, domestic life, and artisanal traditions.

A central theme of the collection is Valguarnera emigration, part of a phenomenon that deeply affected Sicily and Italy.
