Labro-Greccio-Rieti-Casperia: art and faith
Lip: One of the most beautiful villages in Italy that is worth a visit for the Nobili Vitelleschi Castle. In the sixties, after a long period of neglect, the work of recovery of the town began by the Belgian architect Van Mossevelde through a careful restoration and conservation of the stylistic characteristics of the buildings, followed by numerous works to recover stairways, aedicules, portals, arches and windows. Numerous Belgian and Flemish families have decided to establish their summer residences in the village of Labro, contributing to the recovery of the historic settlement. If the external appearance of the village has remained what it was, the restored houses, inside, are beautifully finished and organized, respecting the ancient environments but with the flavor of simplicity combined with practicality. The guided tour inside the castle allows you to relive the atmosphere of distant times.

Greccio: you can visit the sanctuary of Greccio, whose worldwide fame is linked to St. Francis of Assisi who gave life to the representation of the first living Nativity scene here in the year 1223. During the Christmas season you can admire the spectacular nativity scenes on display throughout the country, from miniature works set in the walls to the largest displays that can be found in front of hotels and guesthouses. You can also follow in the footsteps of the Saint by walking along one of the stretches of the “Way of Francis”, a trekking route to visit the most significant places associated with his life and his spiritual message. The route crosses central Italy and is usually covered on foot, but can also be tackled by bicycle or other means of transport. Whether you want to take a leisurely walk on easy trails or a more challenging hike, whether you are a beginner or an expert, you will always find something suitable for you in Greccio.
Rieti:an ancient tradition has it that Rieti is the geographical center of Italy, the so-called Umbilicus Italiae. Here you will find a plaque in which it is written in 20 languages “Centro d’Italia” and a travertine monument depicting the base of a column celebrating the navel of Italy. You will visit the archaeological complex of Rieti Sotterranea to discover a mighty viaduct built by the Romans to avoid the swamping of the Via Salaria, the ancient Salt Road.
Casperia: just 50 km from Rome, you will visit the village of medieval charm mentioned by Virgil in the Aeneid, praised by the London newspaper Times as a model of migration in reverse. Casperia’s bond with the Anglo-Saxon world was born after a quidditch competition: the sport practiced by Harry Potter, organized thanks to the large colony of English who live here regularly and have bought houses.
