The eighth issue of the magazine dedicated to Roots Tourism has been released. This monthly magazine—part of the Farnesina project included in the PNRR—is available for free in digital format in Italian, English, Spanish, and Portuguese. It showcases examples of roots travel experiences, provides useful tips, and encourages different types of travelers to plan their “return” to the places closest to their hearts.
In this new issue, you will find a report on the launch of the Network of Emigration Museums, presented in Genoa as part of the Italea project. Additionally, there’s an overview of the Conference on Roots Tourism – Social Science and Tourism, held in Cosenza at the University of Calabria.
The magazine also highlights suggested itineraries, including Otranto, the “pearl” of Salento in Apulia, and Pienza, the “ideal city” of Tuscany.
The issue also features the story of cousins Connie and Rosalba: one from the United States, the other from Argentina. Thanks to Italea, they reunited in Abruzzo, the homeland of their ancestors.
There’s also an interview with Gianluca Da Lio, an actor and workshop leader, who discusses his activities—designed for children and families—focused on creating a roots diary.
Finally, the magazine offers a selection of experiences across Italy for roots tourists: from the secrets of mountain farming in Trentino to the “sound” of snow in Basilicata.
