Magazine #13
Magazine #13
The 13th issue of the magazine dedicated to Roots Tourism is now online.
Part of the Farnesina’s project under Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), the monthly publication is available for free in digital format in Italian, English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Each edition includes travel stories, practical tips, and suggestions for those planning a return to their ancestral places.
This new issue features itinerary ideas in Cortona (Tuscany), Ayas (Aosta Valley), and Monte Sant’Angelo (Apulia).
Highlights include a report on the coordination meeting on Roots Tourism held in Rome, and Italea’s participation in the two-day event “A Journey Between Memory and Future” in Belluno, partly hosted by the city’s Interactive Museum of Migration.
Also featured is a story about the Ligurian roots of the new Pope, Leo XIV, and the inauguration of the art installation Legàmi by Luciano Minestrella in Magliano Sabina—an evocative work exploring the connection between those who left and those who stayed.
The magazine also covers Italea’s presence at the Turin International Book Fair and the opening of new exhibition rooms at the Museum of Lucanian Emigration in Lagopesole, in the province of Potenza.
Other highlights include the event “Spartenze, racconti e canti” in Recanati, in the Marche region, and an interview with Jo Champa—an actress and ambassador of Italian style who has made her mark in Hollywood.
To round off the issue, there’s a curated selection of experiences for roots travelers across Italy, from sensory encounters with traditional crafts in Aosta Valley to learning about the ancient fishing method of menaica in Cilento.
